Thanks, man. I'm real excited.

My "ship date" is supposed to be Jan 17th, according to my order. I'm stil in "Phase 1".

I've some folks orders take a lot longer though -- will my ship on the 17th? Hard to say?

mine was ordered Nov 18 and shipped one day after the estimate: Dec28
FedEx did not deliver yesterday because newyears.

It stayed on phase 1 for a couple of weeks, so don't be alarmed

I ordered mine on Nov. 22? I believe, (I have it posted elsewhere) It was supposed to ship on Dec. 27th, I am stuck at phase 8 right now (pre production) I was told it would probably be next week before I get an updated ship date. They changed my RAM without telling me but refuded the money I was assured that they are working as fast as they can to get these 7700's out the door, they had a lot of orders. But was assured that they would not cut corners. Thats good too. I can't wait, even though I have too, but good things come to those who wait. I'm just worried I will be the only one to recieve an AW with a bad pixel LOL everyone else has had good luck so far... and I've never been one to have it so we will see I guess Great buy by the way. I've heard nothing but good things about it. The AW version that is, but hten again not many have posted yet so we could get some bad apples (so to speak) but nothing major I hope. Good luck all who are waiting.

They may have been backordered on the screens and/or memory chips...thats probably why the delay

thats pretty bad, though. I hope yours gets there soon.

I was kind of surprised at the fast estimated ship date, myself. I thought it would be closer to the end of Jan rather than the middle of the month, but hey, I'll take it.

You'd think for a shade over 3 grand they'd get it to ya lightning fast. But they seem so focused on quality control, etc., and that's a good thing. So I'll be patient and remain eagerly excited.

Welcome aboard Garbs...and Grats on the laptop

Be sure to keep up with the current 7700 owners to see what you're in store for...it seems, by most accounts, that the 7700 is a solid performer...and a helluva looker!

Again, welcome to the boards

Definitely. And if price is a problem go with 1 gig of ram for now(which will be easily upgradeable in the future to 2 gig) and use the saved money for the better screen which won't be easy so easy to upgrade. And that would actually save you over $140. It costs $284 more to get the 2 gig ram as opposed to 1 gig, but the better screen is only $140 more than the lesser screen. If your wanting to use the 'puter for gaming, you should really go with the screen with the higher resolution.

i agree with the screen(im running at 1920x1200 and love it), but do whatever you want with the ram

thats what i'm saying and this noob gave me a bad rep point. i'm sick of this shit.
