How to create GHOST image of HD ?

Hi all,

I'm a new notebook (IBM) user .
Now, when I installed everything I need , I want to create a GHOST image of my HD and locate it on DVD.
I have only DVD+CD burner (I've no floppy disk drive) and I want to use GHOST program.
Do someone know which version of GHOST is better to purchase and how to create a DOS boot disk + GHOST image to work together ?

Thanks.

Get the latest version of Ghost. I use 2003, and can basically just go "make backup" and it reboots into a "virtual partition" running DR-DOS, and asks for DVD after DVD until its all backed up...depends on which DVD drive on the machines I have used, but then my version is relatively out of date now...Ghost is a very, very good product but personally I would recommend using a floppy drive and Ghost boot disk the first time you do this as I HAVE KNOWN GHOST TO WRECK HARD DRIVES - once or twice, which is a real pain.

When I say wreck I think its when creating the virtual partition, which doesn't happen if you use the boot disk! And, when it works with the virtual partition, it always works, so it may have been a machine I had that had specific issues with Ghost.

Thanks, but I have no floppy !!!
I know how to create an image using Windows, but I don't know how to load it back - how can I start my machine in the DOS mode without the floppy ?!

Ghost images are bootable, usually! All you need to do is put the first disk in and tell the computer to boot from CD before HDD. USB floppy drives (that are bootable in newer computers) cost like...£20, tops.
