Hey all...
Well, yesterday I said I was getting a Falcon DR...but I found a site called powernotebooks.com, and they sell Sager, and their resellerraiting is very goo. I called them, and they helped me to understand that the only fair comparison of a Sager N9860 to a Falcon was to the Fragbook DR 6800. The DR uses a diff chassis, and is no where near as good....and is still more expensive.
I configured an N9860 Force at powernotebooks for $3500, and it has 2 60 GB 7200rpm drives, a 3.6 intel, the nVidia 6800 356mb card, tv tuner, Dvd +\-R, CDRW, built in wireless 801.11g\Bluetooth combo, 1024mb ram, softcase, Office Business Pro software, XP Pro, adapter, and I think that is it.
Well, the same thing with Falcon was $5300! And I would have to buy the Office Pro separately!
I was ignorantly comparing the Fragbook DR......ah well.
Falcon is near where my father lives, who is in a dying process, and it would be so easy for me to travel to Falcon with any issues...but the 2 grand extra is not doable.
How about it all...am I making a good decision to go with powerbooks Sager? Any and all feedback is welcome.
BTW, Falcon is so nice...I spent 2 hrs on the phone with the guy wracking our brains on how to get a Fragbook, but in the end, he flat told me that the other computer was a better buy for the money. So please save any critical comments about Falcon, other than their prices. In all other respects, they were fabulous.
Powernotebooks was nearly the match in how great the guy was on the phone. He spent about an hour answering EVERY question, and helping me to accurately compare computer apples to apples.
