BEWARE!!! I'VE BEEN SCAMMED! Please Read! - Page 2

Cause he never had one. He was kicked off these forums. You provided your e-mail in your thread. Sorry but your laptop is gone.
Is is name Jeremy Oliver or is it?

rando191,

Why on Earth would you edit your first post? Even if everything does work out well, anybody would understand the reasons behind starting a thread like this. even the other party would understand as long as they came out smelling like roses with a positive outcome. If this is still ongoing, please post information that may be helpful for others to help you. This is a topic (trolls) that will be getting its own thread very shortly. Thanks.

You are absolutely right... I just want to see if it works out today. I have to admit however, I had no idea how popular he was...

I basically tell them I wont ship until payment clears. If they dont like it or agree to it then that means they are a crook and trying to steal my stuff without paying for it. If they use the word Indonesia or any other foreign country then that means they are a crook and trying to steal my stuff without paying for it.
Thats not neccessarily true. I use heatware.com, and have had several good trades where I cross ship. I have also had people ship to me first, due to my good trading reputation. And vice versa. Never been trolled, or had a bad trade

Let me ask you something. Why would I send you several hundred dollars for an item when you have no trading history, or references? It works both ways.

Cross shipping doesn't mean they are crooks. Trading and selling is like anything else. You have to use common sense.

If i recall, it was never proven that karkass was trying to rip people off...otherwise he wouldn have posted as much as he was... i think he was just at the wrong place at the wrong time... he apologized like 10 million times and even returned one of the laptops...

Take a look at the threads over at anandtech. It is just a show he puts on... he played them over there, just as he played the people over here.

Addicted2AMD, karkass, pcunlimited, Customerid666.

They are the same person. Sorry Dukefrukem, you are sadly mistaken and misguided if you think this guy was in the wrong place at the wrong time.

He is a troll plain & simple. Scum of the earth. I can't believe people get trolled by this guy, and then listen to his pathetic stories as he strings them along for 5 months

rando191, where did you come across this Jeremy Oliver character? You did post before that you weren't scammed in this forum. How were you contacted and what contact info did he give?
Good to see there are enough Anandtechers over here to put some of these trolls in their place.

I remember having seen Addicted2AMD on the DNT (Do Not Trade) list, but I never would've made the connection to Karkass (wasn't involved in the deals, so didn't pay too much attn). Good to have the rest of the AT crew over here watching out for us.

And once again, I highly recommend that everyone use Heatware.

For those of you who don't know what it is, you can look up my Heatware for an example of how it works or look up enderet's as he posted his a bit earlier.

to the fellow ATers in the house.

I will bet you $20 it is not. And I'm serious, I'll paypal it to you if you accept the bet.

I've got to say though that I am tad peeved about you changing the opening post. You made a very bold statement (correctly as it seems) but now you are backtracking. Presumably this is because our thieving friend has been in private contact. While transactions are your own business, you did make all this public and now is no time to be coy.

Let me know about the bet.

I can't believe this guy hasn't been busted yet for all of his scams. Maybe you can't prosecute someone who promises they will be paying you, but never does. Is this how he gets away with it? Rando191: You should contact the local authorities where Karkass lives and ask them if they know of this Jeremy Oliver (might not even be his real name). Don't just roll over and hope his check arrives. Might even get the FBI involved since this involves nonpayment of mdse across state lines. Karkass just thinks you won't take this any further. Believe me, Thursday is going to come and go and all you'll have is a bunch of broken promises.

This is my first time dealing with Jeremy I had no idea the outcome would plain out suck. Nevertheless, if he pulls through then I can only stay angry about the length of time it is taking. I'll know more as the day progresses if i'll re-edit my original post once more.

The police and FBI were contacted already, by other people, who he scammed over at anandtech. Nothing ever came out of it..

Which is unfortunate. I've been scammed and in my limited experience, law enforcement still is very unprepared to cope with internet crime.
