Phubar is such a nasty, vicious character. He really needs to chill out, take a few Looooooong DEEEEEEEEP breaths, and calm down.

Go easy on the man, he hasn't been around for a while and back in the day the 5660/70 could NOT support 2 HDDs.
Damn Right!! I feel like the ancient mariner on a comeback!!

Things have moved on since The president caused some major confusion in the forums...certain people have left and even more characters have joined very nice !!

I'll take a 5680 with the two HDD's thank you

Nvidia GeForce FX Go 5600 beats the Radeon 9600...maybe because it's not a PRO ?
those benchmarks are very scetchy. absolutely no mention of the system speicifications used. they have the go 5600 performing about double the desktop 9600 card. That's absolutely rediculous. and since alienware is obviously joined w/ nvidia, it would be extremely embarrasing for ati's card to outperform nvidia's.

just my 2 cents.

Sorry for poking fun. I didn't realize the older machines from that line didn't support the 2nd HD, so I thought dual-HD support was an obvious point.

The 2nd HD is even hot swappable for the 2nd battery, optical drive, or floppy that goes in that bay. Could make a good backup strategy of backing up to a 80GB removable, then leaving it at home in favor of a 2nd battery when travelling...

Tomshardware has a couple of more indepth reviews comparing go5600 v. m-10 pro laptops, theTarga XP10 and the Toshiba s705 . It's not a great comparison, but at least you can get a relative idea of the differences between them. The Targa uses the 64mb version, and of course is not spec'd as well a the sager, etc., but the general upshot seems to be that the m-10 is the better card, especially with 4xAA+8xAniso. That techtv article was kinda odd, left out a lot of details.

Audio, if you're concerned about sound quality on the laptop, pick up an Echo Indigo PCMCIA sound card for the laptop, that will increase sound quality tremendously. It'll cost 100-115 bucks. *shrug*
