The iPod is a good device, but it's also the most crippled by its own OS. The iPod consists of dual 90MHz processors, however the native OS calls for 45MHz and really only one processor is utilized. It also seems to me that Apple is taking a step back instead of forward by introducing this hybrid touchpad/clickwheel. Their first model was fully mechanical and constantly clogged and had to be taken apart for cleaning (thus voiding the warranty). They took til 3rd Gen to iron out these creases by introducing the iPod with a synaptics chip in it. The only thing people asked for after that was an OLED screen and a better battery (setting all those wireless internet, 3GHz processor, and WiFi requests aside), but instead they decided to cross the 1st Gen with the 3rd Gen, introduce an LCD iPod, and a U2 iPod (who knows where that came from). Apple still has not released support for FLAC and continues to dodge people's wants.
