Has anyone having this issue?
I fdisk my HD and did fdisk /mbr to make sure nothing on it.
I even zero out the entire HD.
and I booted up with my XP CD and boot fine.
I partitioned the HD and did regular format(NOT quick format)
It takes 1 minute and 30 sec. to format 1%. 1%!!!
So, I restarted the computer, and did quick format.
it went fast this time, but when it was copying files, it takes about 10 minutes to copy files. Now, in GUI mode, it ALWAYS stops at 34%. ALWAYS 34%.
I researched microsoft site, and it said I might have bad RAM, or using wrong mass-storage driver (XP reports that HD attached on ATAPI [MBR] in Text Mode setup). ran MEMTEST86+, passed it.

So, I tried install Win2K. It was completely different. It was extremely faster than XP. Format went fast. about 5 sec for 1% format. copying files was fast too.

My system is Inspiron 9200 w/ 768MB RAM, 20GB, Teac 8X DVD-ROM.
