VAIO Z1 (z1va) upgrade update memory wireless ?

Thread Starter
I have VAIO Z1-VA,

many of you hate this laptop, but style weight and easy of use made my girlfriend love this machine. I installed clean Windows xp pro to get rid of sony programs, but there are 3 problems I have.

1.
I need software for 2 function keys (to controll sound and brightness, or anything else you want). This soft is not on the sony site, and sony wants money for their dvd disk with software. Does anybody has a cd or dvd with this program? I really hate to spend money on what I already paid over $2000.

2.
Does anybody know how can I upgrade memory in this system? I would like to get 1G total, but not sure if it is possible to open it up myself without any problems.

3.
Anybody has an idea if wirteless card is built in to motherboard in this model, or can I buy new mini pci wireless card and upgade it myself.

Thanks for all your help guys.

WHY,WHY WHY!
1st rule any upgrade or change of your rig MAKE SURE you have all Software (DRIVERS) B4 hand! or backup your system
Still you may be in luck if you can obtain the Sony Utilities Dynamic Link Library (DLL) and Sony Notebook Control you'll be fine...
Now I can give you a FTP site which has all you need to get your rig up and going......
Now the bad news.. You need to know the driver ID or file name for your rig unless Sony has reloads the file details read me!...look in here---> ftp://ftp.vaio-link.com/PUB/Vaio

Also you may find it on these links....Like I said might!

Yes you can upgrade your ram, theres a guide within this forum some place with detail photos which shows you how to go about this monster task.
The link I believe is in Germany but the photos give a clear understanding on how to remove all the parts...
Good luck..
