Opinion - keep 9200 or return it and get the 9300? - Page 4

i crave power. so if the 9300 is a more powerfull computer ( havent seen any specs) i would return that 9200 quickstyle. just my opinion.

return it

I suspect the I9200 will have a very short life span i.e. 3 - 6 months. The I9300 is just too similar; but at the same time substantially better. I think DELL knew they needed a 17 inch laptop in time for the holidays to compete with HP, Compaq, Sony, etc. – otherwise they would risk losing customers. They may have originally hoped to have the Somona version of the 17 inch laptop ready for the holidays. However once they realized the Somona laptop was not going to happen due to delays by Intel perhaps they decided to quickly put together the I9200 to fill the gaping (17 inch!) hole in its laptop lineup. If this was done hastily it might explain the UXGA screen debacle and the underpowered GPU. Note that I am not saying the Radeon 9700 is not good, rather I simply expected a more cutting edge GPU to be offered in DELL’s first entry into the 17 inch laptop arena. Of course all of this is simply conjecture.

Man, i passaed my 21 days return. This sucks major balls because new ones are always on the horizon.

Owell, my money goes into the next gen desktop since 9200 will be sufficient for gaming.

Ah that sucks well maybe ebay I doubt anything major will surpass the i9300 for gaming performance after its release since it'll have that nice 6800 go chip in it.

Not to mention the fact that they've probably got an astronomical return rate due to the WUXGA screw-up. They will need to milk this puppy for a while just to hit breakeven, and they need to replace the aging XPS. That's what the 9300 will replace, not the 9200.
I agree. The 9300 sounds like an XPS replacement to me and it will be much lighter than the current XPS.

considering the price i payed for my 9200, i don't think i would even bother sending it back for a 9300.

i love delf and epp...

The whole 9300 around the corner kinda sticks, but the 9200 is definetly the best laptop I've ever owned, and hell, there's always going to be something better.

It's like 9/10, woulda been 10/10 if it offered a video card with a longer life span (i.e. 9800 radeon) but when I need a new laptop, 3-4 years from now, the upgrade from a 9700 to whatever is out will have more pizzaz or something

hey guys,
if you believe that the 9300 is a replacement of 9200, buy complete care package with the 9200 and start to pray that your obseleted 9200 lappy will fall and break so you can have the 9300

What? They would replace it with a different model? I should read the fine print.

They will if they don't have another i9200 to replace it. That may take a while.
