LCD flicker

New lappy, runs fine. But every once in a while the screen will flicker its brightness one notch. Seems to happen more when its running hot and when on max and 2nd to max brightness. Doesnt matter if its on battery or ac power.

I emailed the sager guys and they said it shouldnt be a problem if it only happens on max brightness. But it seems to be getting worse.

Im just curious if other people have the same issue.

I haven't noticed that yet with my 9860, but I will keep an eye out for it and update if I notice anything.

I have noticed this aswell with my 9860. The LCD seems to flicker somewhat often during bootup and not very often after it has 'warmed up'. I sent an e-mail to PCTorque about this issue and the reply suggested RMA. I am however hesitating to see if this gets better or worse; although I doubt the latter will be the case. In conjunction, I also have a slight semi-circle shadow in the upper mid-region of the screen. Not sure if that is any help, but you don't seem to be alone. Can you more verbosely describe this flicker?

I've noticed the same with my 9860. It only happens after I first power it on, and will occur once or twice. Once the LCD has been on about 2-3 minutes I don't see it happen. Screen brightness is one below max, and it still happens when I power up the laptop. The system otherwise runs perfectly, and my LCD is flawless, so I'm not tempted to RMA it unless impending failure is near. Considering I'm only seeing it when I power up have being shut off for awhile, and I see nothing even after 6 hours of SW:Battlefront at max graphics, I'm not overly worried at this point.

Same here, It works with no problems around 90% of the time.

To describe the flicker more: It doesnt seem to follow a pattern, just fairly rapid changes between brightness, kinda like when a florescent light is going out. Its not much brightness change maybe 1 or 1/2 step between levels.

It seems to happen at random times, not when the cpus working or the fans go on, for instance. It just happened now and its only been on about 5 min. Lowering the brightness makes it 'not visible' but if you switch down and back up while its happening it doesnt actually stop the flickering from happening.

I dont really mind, Im just nervous about it crapping out on me. This is my first real laptop (got an old one off ebay for kicks once, nothing but trouble) and they seem a bit more edgy than desktops.
