Recently got this baby for school, it works perfectly for my needs, nice and light at 4lbs and of course very small in actual shape. I recently sold my Dell Inspirion 8600 for this, and before that I had a Dell 5100. I am happier with this laptop then either of those, although both Dell's treated me well. The only problems I have ran into with the Sony is getting the Fn commands to work with WinXP Pro. I can only get them to work with the WinXp Home they included, due to driver issues. However they do not put the drivers for this up on the site(sony). If anyone knows a fix pleae feel free to help me out.
Pros:
-Size and shape makes it extremly portable.
-Feels very well built and solid, no cheapy parts.(The CDRW/DVD drive works fantastic and has a solid/non flimsy feel)
-32 Meg NON-integrated video, nice to have a decent video card on a small portable laptop and not some cheap integrated chipset.
-Big Harddrive and the abilities to upgrade the ram to 2GB
-ON/OFF Wireless switch, great feature, saves confusion.
-PRO Media slots, as well as firewire and other! Lots of features
Cons:
-The Driver issue with the Fn keys is my biggest complaint.
-The touchpad is very senesitive out of the box, which can be annoying, once you use the touchpad utility to adjust it, works great.
OVERALL: This laptop is GREAT for almost everything except high end gaming, I play Warcraft 3 on it ect, without any problems at all. Great laptop, the best $ for $ at the moment portability wise in my opinion.
I attached some pictures, please tell me what you guys thing.
