ATI Radeon 9600 (128) vs 9700 (64)

Any suggestions on which is a better route to take, newer (I think) and faster GPU with less memory, or older one with double the memory....

I'd say go with the 9700 with 64 MBs, unless the 9600 is the 9600 PRO.

9600, you can overclock it to a 9700 and an overclocked 9600 with 128 beats 9700 with 64...

But an overclocked 9700 with 64 could beat an overclocked 9600 with 128...

It will beat it in benchmarks, but in texture intensive games like doom3? the 64 ram will to you...

If it is a 9600 pro then go with that because 9700 is just a little crank...overclocking!!!! Plus you will want that extra 64mb of memory for intense gaming!
