Yes, that's a color LCD on the back cover that will display whatever you load up and set it to incl a lil slideshow action.

Screen is glossy?

Nice

wtf?

Does this mean that there won't be an X800 card for the 9860?

This is beyond cruel, forcing those who want an X800 card to use it on a 15.4 screen....

Looks interesting. This is PCIe but will be a different line then the 9860. If the small LCD on the lid top can function as a PDA (email, contacts using the DJ as a way to navigate) in low power mode then it will be usefull. Otherwise it is a gimick I could do without. I also wish they could have found some other use for 2 speakers since I don't think more then 4 will be noticeable.

Will the 7620 also downclock on battery like the 9860?

Methinks this is the 56xx replacement for which we've been lusting. It's about the same weight and specs (obviously more advanced, though).

Not as of yet, we will have pricing up as soon as it is available.

Although I am the fairly new owner (less than 1 month) of a 9860, This laptop is beautiful!!!!!

I like the ATI graphics card option of course. The external LCD is kinda cool too, not necessary, but cool. I just wish this came in a 17" screen with full keyboard (including number pad) and I would return my 9860 and purchase this one in a heart beat!!

One has to wonder when it will be available now...(unless I am just blind and missed it.)

Any word on whether the nVidia 6800 is going to be an option? Despite all the dedicated ATI people around here, I'll take that over the x800.

Repaired my old laptop in hopes of buying a couple months for UXGA and PCI-x - Need something soon...UXGA...and since 9860 doesn't have it...
Wow.....the 7620 is actually thicker than the 9860!
man... my only beef w/ the 9860 is that it was widescreen, but this baby may take the cake it it preforms and prices as well...

Wohoo! More PCI-E notebooks . I hope they get a Pentium M one out soon . Notice how they named it the 7620... maybe they plan to have this around for a while with many upgrades. That would be nice
