Sager 7620 announced - Page 9

Now that it's available for order, can you give us a shipping eta? Rough eta is fine if that's all you have.

Thanks

I just ordered my 7620, and I can't wait!
please let us know when you get it.

Luke, Adam,
do you know when you guys will have a full review of it? I like your pre-review but I would like to know about noise and thermal issues.

We are working on it as we speak.

great

if you have a chance, do you think that it would be possible to post a picture of a 7620 next to a 9860 so we can compare the sizes.

soooo... judging by the pictures its possible to have dual MS/MMC/SD readers? cuz 1 is built in and there is an option for card reader...

I am hoping too but I seriously doubt that the 6800 ultra will go into the 7620. The case is smaller so it seems trickier to solve the thermal problem compare to the 9860. The ATI X800 is already a good video card that should satisfies your needs for the next two years.

so Adam and Luke where is the 7620 review? You guys have to stop playing World of Warcraft .
I was just expanding on the asumption that the 7620 and the 9860
use the same formfactor vidcard.
Hey Luke, what in youre 9860 now?

lol sorry, we're not intentionally dragging it out

Some things I'll note right now as compared to the original pre-review I did...
-It's loud, loudest Sager I've tested
-The back panel LCD is not in the production model (as I've said before)
-We're waiting on the final "official" clock settings of the GPU, it's performing better than in the other review, but we're confirming the final settings.
-Unfortunately there may not be other GPU options for this unit even though the GPU a plug module.
-We're not sure when/if we'll see UXGA, TV Tuner, 533 RAM, and SATA options for this.

It is nice looking, good performing with some good features and great built in sound for a laptop. Whoever wanted the round touchpad needs beaten the more I think about it and use it.

I'm testing the temps now.

Also, Luke wants you to know he has the "NVIDIA" GPU in his 9860 .

what is the source of the noise Adam, fans?

you are bringing bad news, loud, no 533 RAM no other GPU option...
I might consider buying a 9860 instead, I'll wait for the full review but I am a little bit disappointed, I guess that I had too high expectations for this laptop.

Well, along with what I said above, it's a solid built system and stays decently cool to the touch under load.

The fan noise hit 71db (fans) on the same meter we used in the 9860 testing. It's not only louder, it's a pitch some people will likely complain about. Don't get me wrong, some will find this to be a great choice, but not near as many that would if a few things were different.

So there's no LCD screen at all - just a badge I presume?

I was kinda looking forward to that (in a pointless, quirky, show-off kinda way).

Is review due sometime this week?

Cheers Adam

And what about the 15" 4:3 screen? any news?

Does anyone know is a 6800 Ultra would ever fit in this notebook? I am not sure if that card requires a larger chassis. Thanks

i wonder with some tweaking you could switch this baby to a centrino processor, preferably the yonah when it come out caue its got comparable performance but MUCH MUCH less power usage, then you get an extra hour or twoof batt life on a x800 machine, sorta like the xps2 "bad word " and still have a uber machine
