Hm..does it mean that this GPU won't be upgradable?
I for one hope it is. I know its an amazing card right now, but I want to upgrade evetnually if its cost effective and posible.

AFAIK this is not true - I have had the D700T pre-ordered for 3 months now and have always had the choice of X800 or 6800 Go, and the 6800 Go DDR3 was recently added too.

I must confess to being slightly concerned over the upgradability of these machines. I thought that was the whole point of PCI-E laptops - future proofing!?

We've already found out the 6800 Go ULTRA won't fit in the 7620 (D700t) so will this be the case for all future gfx cards?

From who is the question, as I said SAGER has announced the only option available with the 7620 is the MRx800. Other Clevo resellers may choose to offer the other cards with the D700T. Will the other ones work, so far they do with out any issues(in my testing at least). I have a pile of video cards on my desk just for the purpose of testing with these units.

Luke, but more importantly - does that include the 6800 ULTRA?

Can anyone confirm whether the NP7620 comes with a TV Tuner? I don't see this listed in the specs or as an option at the Sager or PC Torque websites.

As nice as that would be, I highly doubt it. I don't think many people ever have a 6800 U

Can I see some kind of weight comparison chart of the 5690, the 9860 and the 7620? Like with extra batteries/extra HD comparisons etc.

I can't wait to see this! I'm still considering purchasing one of these but haven't decided for sure yet, mainly because of fan noise and performance.

Does not look like that would be too much trouble? Although, who knows how much head room there is...

"And the XPS-2 blows away all portables to date in performance, delivering a 3DMark 2005 score of 4,899, a Doom 3 result of 99.8 fps, and a Halo score of 78.1 fps."

I need the 9860 with Ultra to come out before the XPS2 ships!

The option was removed but the physical port still exists, I am sure there will be an option for the TV tuner in the near future.

Any update as to when the new review will be up? Just wondering.

Nice review
It's good that the fans seem to run more quietly now. BTW, will there be an opportunity to change the GPU later, in a couple of months? Or it's x800 forever?
Now just give me my 15" 4:3 screen and I will place an order

We're not expecting it to support any future GPU releases, but we haven't got a confirmation either way.

Its still a great machine. I'm probably going to order this thing soon enough. *drool*

After reading these posts, my only concern is about fan noise.

Perhaps someone at PCTorque can clarify? For example, if I used it mostly for text editing at work (e.g. not working it hard at all), will it make a barely discernable background hum, or will my colleagues in the same room be annoyingly aware of it's presence?

Also I'm wondering if the choice of CPU would make a difference. If choosing a 3.2GHz CPU over a 3.6GHz could significantly reduce fan noise, I'd settle for the former.

I am a man of great tolerance, however after I heard the 7620 with its original firmware I was left stupefied as to what that horrible noise was. Sager has since as you know revised the fan firmware to adjust it for less noise. With the 7620's current firmware the fans are fairly quite even on full but still the pitch of the noise is still some... displeasure able. The true test for this machine will be customer reviews for it, I my self would consider the noise at this point acceptable.

CPU should have little affect on fan noise.

Thankyou for the quick feedback.
I sure wish I could hear it first... any chance of you posting an mp3?
