I'm considering getting an ACER TM4000WLCi-XPH-60GB and not quite sure of the quality or reliability of this notebook. I chose this one because of its value.
As I'm not a gamer, I don't think the lack of ATI graphics card will matter. But am wondering if the text clarity would be any different with the ATI versus Intel Extreme Graphics 2, as I have some vision issues?
And my real concern is reliablity. ACER told me the only warranty service depots in North America are in Texas, USA, and Ontario, Canada, which means transport times both ways.
I am also considering comparable Toshiba, but they are 1.5 LBS heavier and cost quite a bit more. And according to Toshiba, the optional "Accidental Protection Warranty" is only valid in the country of purchase. This could be an issue as I travel to both Canada and US. The Acer "Accidental Protection Warranty" is valid in both Canada and US.
Any thoughts on this would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you.
Dave
