just ordered a area 51 7700 friday and i cannot wait till it gets here. january 17 is estimated ship date. i have went thru the forums here. besides some heating issues , is there any other things a nubie to alienware need to know about the 7700. thanks ~

Thanks guys!! i had been burning the midnight oils on what kind of laptop i wanted. after filtering it down it was between dell XPS or the area 51 7700.
And the 7700 was it because i got every thing i whanted that the over priced XPS. of all the things i got the XPS would have been prob $5000 lol heres my 7700

get more years in the warranty atleast the 2 year , you wont regret it .... even tho i dont have one ... ive seen guys all of this board talk about it ... so i suggest you look into that .....

Ya I just ordered my 7700 as well about 6 days ago and yesterday I called in and added the better screen to my order it just makes more sense. I am also going to add the 2 year warranty but I am going to do that after my Lappy ships because if I do it now it will delay my ship date even more than adding the screen already has.

adding a warrenty shouldnt delay you, and i dont think that you can add a warrenty after it ships.

Yeah I would not count on being able to add a mopre to the warranty later... I would at least get the 2, in the first year you get all the major stuff fixed in the second you get the small ones 2 should be the min. on any Lappie. If your getting the 7700 it's more than likley for gaming I would for sure get the better Screen too. Welcome by the way.

why should upgrading ur warranty delay your shipping... i have no idea and i dont think it will... but you should check on that......yea 2 year looks good , heck even the 3 year will be great just in case you want to sell you lappy in 2 years give it out with a 1 year still left... but am not sure you can transfer warranty ...but anyways i dont think it will delay your shipping
