Do you have a second laptop?

I've been toying with the idea of investing in a slightly more portable/practical (work-oriented) laptop, and I was wondering if anyone else has any recommendations. Here are some of my criteria:

Long battery life (3+ hours).
Integrated Gigabit Ethernet (tricky one)

i believe you can get Dell Latitudes with Gigabit integrated, and they are mostly like the 8600

I got my wife an Inspiron 1150 with a 15" and 2.8ghz processor and a DVD burner. I get 4.5 hrs of battery life and it is perfect to surf anywhere in the house. It's more portable then my 9100.

I always have one lappy for real work and one for real portability. Currently, I'm going with the 9200 and 700m (Dr Evil and MiniMe). If you really need the gig-ethernet, go with the X300, or wait a couple weeks for the new Sonoma/Alviso lappies.

yeah the sonoma/alviso platform looks pretty mouthwatering IMHO

Whoah. A Mac. Now that would be one heck of a plunge. Right now I think I'll hold off to see if the 'headless' Mac is released. Rather spend $500 to find out that I don't much like OS X. Plus at this point I should probably hold off until the G5 laptops are available, either to take advantage of the reduced pricing on G4 based laptops, or really commit to the slick G5. Plus upgradable graphics and the rest.

Hm, this is going to be a harder choice than I thought.
