I do NOT recommend this seller! He tried selling a PS2 and XBox here recently, and we agreed TWICE to the sale, but I never got the items. First, I paid paypal, and a couple days later he returned the payment saying he couldn't afford to ship. Then he said that he would be in my area within a few days and could deliver the items in person and avoid shipping. We agreed to this arrangement, but several days later, he again called the "deal" off, saying he decided to give the xbox to his brother. Who agrees to a sale then gives the items away??? I will never deal with this seller again because he is unprofessional and untrustworthy.

Notice, this is the THIRD thread involving this guy where a bunch of questions arise.

I refunded your money. At the time my car front brakes stopped working and I got 5 tickets that day. THATS WHY I COULDN'T AFFORD TO SHIP. I refunded your money. You have all of your money. Also about those questions arising. What was the outcome? Exactly.

I returned money the next day.

akademic, my biggest complaint with you is not about money. i mentioned that you paid the money back in my post to show that it wasn't the point.

however, we agreed in principal to continue the sale under your terms (since you weren't competent to complete the first sale under any reasonable terms), and you then proceeded to void the sale a SECOND time and just give away the item you agreed to sell to me.

my point was that you were not a man of your word and should not be trusted here because of this. your 5 traffic ticket story has nothing to do with you agreeing to sell an item to me, and then giving it away to someone else. my experience with you was a very unprofessional one, and i wish to let everyone here know that and spare them a similar experience.

This guy still around? And still have these items for sale?

Your point is well taken, but now it seems to be "academic"!!!

Having been in the business world for over 30 years, I would find it hard to trust this person.
Someone who has limited funds because his front brakes were shot..he got 5 parking tickets in one day (how smart is that?) can't be the brightest bulb on the tree.
He probably did not have the item for sale!
Who cares about your personal problems??? That's life in the big city!
Look at it this way...if you (akademik_7) fronted the money for shipment, then received your $$$ for the goods, you'd have enough $$ to pay for the brake job, pay your tickets, and have some $$$ left over.
We don't want to hear about your problems, just what you're trying to sell
As it is now, you've created nothing but ill will here, and probably won't be trusted to sell anything .

greatgazoo has a point about not trusting you.
Your poor excuses about why you cancelled the sale are inexcusable.

he can cancel the sale if he wants to, hence he is the SELLER. I don't see a problem with what he did, you didn't get scammed you got your money back, so quit complaining. he could have taken your money and scammed you but he didn't. He told you he had a problem with selling bc of personal problems and he refunded your money. BTW you guys aren't buying from companies so they don't HAVE to sell to you no matter what. The seller cancelling the order and deciding not to sell is the risk you take with buying from a person. No need to be a dick to him just bc the deal fell through and he GAVE your money back. Who knows maybe he knew you were a jackass and didn't want to sell to you?

so now we should thank people for not scamming us?

how bout the seller thanking the buyer for buying the goods so that he can recoup his cash

it's about respect and trust, not just, "well, i didn't get scammed, which makes him a good guy"

porciniman, funpolice001, thanks for understanding. you are exactly the people who i want to help, because the only defense we have against bad salesmanship in this forum is each other.

rmhop81, although your unwarranted flaming suggests i'm wasting my time even posting to you, please try to listen and learn from this. when the deal fell through because of money problems, although disappointed, i did NOT post a thing about this seller. i posted several days after the SECOND deal fell through because the seller decided to go back on his word and keep the item for sale. i stated in my very first post that the money was returned so that the seller, yourself, and any others would not focus on that.

the point here is that no one "has" to sell on here like you said, but instead we must trust complete strangers to do our business. once that trust is broken, it is only fair to let others know. this is the point of the the bbb for companies, and this is the point of ratings on ebay, heatware, etc for individuals. in the future please be more respectful of those who are only looking out for the integrity of the board and the good of others instead of flaming them.

thank you to all for understanding, and good luck trading!

In legal terms, if you have an email that he agreed to sell it to you then I believe that constitutes a "contract"...of course you got your money back but that is obviously not the point as you agreed to purchase something posted for sale..if the seller reniged, for what ever reason then it is the seller whose crediability is in question and not the buyer....the statement about not getting scammed is stupid... should he have expected to been scammed?

I purchased an Axim X50, Geforce 6800 Ultra, and a 20" monitor all from this person. He seemed VERY decent, and understanding, however I suspected something odd.
So we came to the conclusion, he would ship the Geforce 6800 Ultra first, then I would send a full Money Order for the rest. I took out the money order for him, and it is now 7 days past when it was supposed to be here. I also can no longer make contact of any sort. He may have a logical reason, however I would like to know whether to go elsewhere or akademik is goign to ship my items. Thanks.

I can see this will be another 10 page thread
I'm surprised Cross hasn't posted here

Delay3d, you didn't actually send him the money order yet did you?

I was in negotiations for his 23" Sony display when he abruptly disappeared too. He also agreed to ship to me first, so I doubt he's really out to scam anyone. Perhaps he's just a really busy and highly disorganized individual, or maybe he didn't really have any of this stuff or couldn't get it. I would take your business elsewhere. His prices seemed too good to be true, so they probably were.

There should be a rule on this forum.
You can't sell what you don't have in your possesion!

Makes sense.

I guess you could be correct, but, as you state...
"I would take your business elsewhere. His prices seemed too good to be true, so they probably were."
I guess the saying..if it's too good to be true, it probably is!..is a truisim!!!
