HDD Upgrade in Acer Ferrari 3000

Thread Starter
I am considering upgrading my hard disk from 60GB 4200 rpm to a faster one.
Any suggestions?
Do I have to use a specific disk or any will do for my system?

And the last one: has anyone actually done it? If so i would appreciate some guidelines..

Thanks in advance,

Ferrari HD upgrade...

Hi,

I upgraded my Ferrari3400 a week ago. You should have no problems upgrading yours. My new disk is (i think) Hitachi Travelstar 60GB/7200rpm - same brand as the original HD... It gets pretty hot when I'm running games, but I guess that's life when you want a faster HD...

It IS a Hitachi Travelstar 60GB/7200rpm!!!
Unless Acer have changed the chassis, you shold be able to swap your disk very easy. Your manual should show you where the HD is located... All you have to do is remove 2 screws on the back of your notebook - and then 4 screws to remove the bracket (once you've got you HD out of the chassis)!...

I can strongly recommend the Hitachi 7K60 60GB 7200RPM hard drive.
