Bisoncam Issues

Hi All,
I have recently received 9860. I installed Win XP Pro and installed the drivers in order. Initially, the camera worked fine and suddenly one fine day, it stopped working. I tried uninstalling the drivers, but to no avail. The system itself detects the camera as "Unknown USB device." I wanted to do a forced install of camera drivers, but the setup that came on the CD is in EXE format and no INF file is supplied. When I tried to run the included setup file, it just says "Hardware missing or missmatch. Please plugin the correct USB Camera." Can someone please shed some light on how to fix this stupid camera? I have read all the posts regarding this and found no definite answer. Thanks to you all in advance.................

I am having the same problem with my BisonCam - same error on install or removal.

Also seeing an "Unknown USB device" in device manager - nothing is showing up in the Scanners and Cameras in the control panel.

Running windowsXP Pro

The camera worked flawlessly until this morning. I have not used it extensively, but anytime I fired it up, I had no problems until now.

I'll be calling Sager Tech Support this am when they open - another 2 hours from now, and will post what they tell me.

I fixed mine last week. I was about to post the fix. For some reason, the windows stops seeing the camera as camera and so it labels it as unknown usb device. All I did was I connected a usb device (anything like usb harddrive or anything) that was never connected to this system and this windows installation has never seen before and while looking for drivers for this new device, windows suddenly recognized the camera as ALI M5603C and when I ran the camera drivers downloaded from sager website, they recognized the camera fine and installed it without any problem. Now, the camera works like a gem. Hope this helps......

Thanks for the reply! My problem was solved by disabling the 7in1 media reader - camera showed up right away...

I'll turn it back on in a bit to see if the camera stays or goes -

Ok - just re-enabled the card reader and everything is working now... Also just got off of the phone with Sager tech support - they are thinking it could have been a resource conflict that was resolved by turning off the card reader - booting in - and then turning the card reader back on...

I'll post if any more problems arise
