After a little over a month of ownership this lappy is still running strong. Not a single problem. Everything is just sweet. Hope everyone loves their 7700 and hope anyone who is considering the lappy.... Go for it.

I put my order in Yesterday for the Area-51m 7700. I hope my experience goes as smoothly as alienrex's experience.

I also am extremely satisfied with my 7700!! It was 100% dead pixel free and I have had it just under a month. Use it everyday and it hasn't skipped a beat!

Well, Tom Petty was right when he said the waiting is the hardest part.

Bend over and I will introduce you to the hardest part.

with the arrival of the inspiron xps gen 2 can the 7700 still hold up? in terms of upgradeability, i really hope aw will make 7700 upgradeable for a couple of years minimum... because i've just ordered mine and i really don't want to end up with an obsolete 14lbs notebook in under 2 years...
Well, the CPU, GPU, RAM, HDDs and optical drives are all upgradeable. If you just ordered the 7700 it is PCI-E so you are fine for upgradeability. In fact, AWs warranty even addresses upgrades; its on their website.

I Ordered mine.. They have been great so far. First call was to confirm price, as it dropped $200 after I ordered it. A 9minute phone call and I had an updated screen and a better price. Second issue was with verification.. they said it wasn't verified, it was.. took 2 calls to correct. All better now. So far all A's in support from me! (Hurry up and build the thing! LOL)

Phase 1: 3/10 (ordered)
Phase 2: 3/16 (errors corrected)

Ship Date: Estimated by them -- 3/24 (Probably not gunna make it)

still running strong.

Hey I really hope someone gets this message and responds to it since I only like reading what optimistic people have to say, please have something good to tell me....
I just got my 7700 last week and it is everything and more than I expected. I love it!
You mentioned something about some "benchmark test" and I was curious as to what those are. I'm no computer guru and this is my first time even owning my own so if you can reply asap and let me know what I can do to find out if my system is up to speed and if there is anything I can do to get it to run faster. I wont be surprised if there arent any adjustments to make, this bad ass piece of machine already blows my mind with the speed it caries but I'm asking just in case I'm missing out on anything.
Thanks.

yes you can run 3dMark 2005 you can get it off of futurmark's website. PCMARK 2005...but if you want to check you graphics and FPS do the 3dmark2005...some of the games are crazy, and they will definetly push your system to the mark

Good for you, don't OC your machine, you don't need to. Everybody who buy's an AW OC's because we are all gamers. However, I see the beauty in leaving everything bone stock and still getting awesome frame rates. Can't wait for the ULTRA to prove this point...
