Toshiba Satellite A75-S206 battery/adapter problems.

Thread Starter
Recently my adapter has been very erratic in its ability to charge the battery or let the computer run off the AC power, even though the first two lights are green. Sometimes when I plug in the cord and put tension on it, the orange light comes on (I've even tied it with a string to a chair to keep the tension so I can continue letting it charge for me) to charge the battery, but rarely does this work. This never was a problem up at school, and it seems only to be happening now, but I believe it's coincidental. Seems like there's a bit of wiggle room where I plug it in, although I'm not sure this wasn't intended since it was very rarely unplugged at school. Is this a common problem? There's a carry-in service right in my town, and I'm going back to school on Monday and would like to have this resolved a few days before then. Anyone happen to know how long this typically takes (battery issue potentially)? Any help is appreciated.

Read the other thread on the A70/A75 static issue. If you have zapped your system a few times with a static discharge you could have damaged the charger if it was plugged in when it happened. Hell, you could have zapped the motherboard!

See new post on this subject, Battery discharging while plugged in. Did you figure anything out?

I have exactly the same problem as ImpossibleDream so I found myself at this forum looking for help and to see if anyone else is experiencing the same thing.

It is good to know that I am not on my own with a problematic Satellite A75-S206 as I was starting to go crazy with it.

I won't repeat what ImpossibleDream said because he/she said exactly what is happening to mine.

Yes I have had the static problem too and I was hoping that they weren't related.

Now I just need to get the battery charged up sufficiently so that I can make an image of my drive and back up my important folders then I am going to contact the extended warranty people that I paid the fee to when I purchase the darn thing!
