that's not an ultra card.
i think it's a GT card.
ultras comes with 2 DVI out puts and 2 connectors.

This is the link for the Asus V9999 Ultra card.
http://usa.asus.com/products/vga/v99...t/overview.htm

but it doesn't look similar to the card in the picture you showed... light minor differences....

Yep! What in the hell did Fed Ex do to that Rig!! Damage like that is shameful to have occurred to a box, nevermind what happened inside. Looks to me that your assumptions of the card are correct. I hope that Alienware rectifies the situation and takes a look at how they deliver their packages. When I was in college I worked for a Distribution center and have not seen damage like that unless we did it on purpose. I hope all turns out well for you, and that Alienware gives you priority treatment.

Apex, see the ASUS card in your link has 2 power connectors and dual Digital outputs.

Thanks Ruxor, I really trying to be calm about it, luckily I have to work this week if I was at home I'd be a liittle more tense. My wife thought the driver was a little sheepish acting on top of things and Alienware said no way that box would have left their site looking like that. Of course the delivery distance to my house was a whole 35 miles

They got it thur 9:32 but I haven't heard anything yet.

On the alienware website it says that the 6800 ultras they use have one DVI connector and one VGA. I think it depends on teh manufacturer of the ultra card whether you get two DVI ports or not.

I've seen that card somewhere before. I'll see if I can find a link.

I thought their ultra could be custom, they make such a big deal out of the power usage in the reviews I'm wondering how they overcame the 2 connector requirement.

Thanks Ewolff, when they talk to me I'd like to have facts, and not just half to agree or argue over details I'm not sure of.

Here are the Pictures.
(in case anyone didn't get to see them)

I really hope things turn out ok for you man ... before they send it back maybe you should push them to make sure everything else on the system is there/what it should be.

About the 6800 though, there are generally 2 different heatsink designs for them .. one that does hang over the adjacent PCI slot, and one that doesn't.

The 2 Molex Connecters were really never really much more than a gimmick, and I'm pretty sure that there are versions of the card that don't use 2 molex connecters ...
lol ... what I don't understand is how somebody could be so stupid as to RIP it open rather than try to just open it normally so people won't notice ... haha

Thats what my wife said, maybe he didn't have any black tape to seal it back up.

Theu used Samsung PC4200 RAM, which I pulled and looked over.
