True, however I have been playing Half-Life 2 and Far Cry with Trangaming Cedega under Linux with decent, playable results. For me I would rather be running Linux, which I know, than Windoze which I have been avoiding. BTW here is transgaming's web site:

The advantage of GDDR3 is that it can apparently be clocked much higher than GDDR 1 or 2, the 2nd revision 6800Go is projected to have 600MHz memory (1200MHz effective) as opposed to the 300MHz memory (600MHz effective) of the 1st revision card. GDDR3 is also supposed to run cooler which should enable NVidia to clock the GPU higher - currently the projected clock speed of the 6800Go revision 2's GPU is 450MHz (stock) compared with 250-300MHz (stock) with the revision 1 cards.

So all up we could see as much as a 50% performance increase with the 6800Go revision 2 over the revision 1 card.

Thanks Alex, that's very interesting and informative - perhaps the future of Linux gaming is a little brighter than I thought - fair call.
