Really weird interruption noise when using audio on 7700.....

I've been testing my new 7700 and whenever I play anything audio-based sooner or later the audio would make a noise like a high pitched "BRRRRRRRR" and "WHIIIIIIIIIIIIIR" and then continue on playing.....I don't know if it's lag or some other error, but it's been really annoying me....I've installed new drivers and have checked to see whether it's a peripheral problem (have numerous external hdds and play a lot of mp3s straight off from the hdds) and so far I'm still stumped. Anyone have the same problem and fixed it? Will probably call Alienware after to ask them on it later if no one knows.

Found out that it was some weird lag......still disrupting my gaming, movie, and music experience...weird thing is that it doesn't affect my AW DJ player when the computer is off and I play my normal music CDs on said DJ player......called AW tech, we tried everything and now he wants me to reformat and re-install and take a looksee if that fixes the problem. Only snag is....can't reinstall WindowsXP without my USB floppy disk drive that apparently didn't ship with the rest of my shtuff. So.....now I need to wait until the USB floppy disk drive to arrive before being able to get this resolved ;_; Blah. Here's hopes that it's just the OEM Windows XP not being installed correctly and no need for RMAing the 7700......RMAing for California takes a whole month -_- Totally non-liveable considering it's my only laptop for now ;_;

Alrighty.....reformatted and reinstalled. Now I have a completely weird problem.....my onboard sound is now recognized as a yellow question mark PCI device and everytime I try installing the drivers, when I reboot it says "Microsoft Bus driver should be loaded in your system before installing realtek HD Audio!" Any idea what that means or how to get the hardware to recognize the driver?

i have the same issues with my mj7700
it seems like their only solution to every fuking problem is reformat because its a new machine and we all payed 4000 to beta test this bullshit.
read my thread above, and good luck to you cuz you're going to need it

Knight - It sounds like it might have been just a problem with another app or process eating up cpu cycles and interfering with your music. But now you have a completely different problem, and I don't know how to fix that one. Sorry...If I had seen this before the reformat it might have been more help.

Have you made sure to install the chipset drivers for your system, if they are absent, all sorts of things could go unrecognized.

when you reformatted did you use the respawn disk or a fresh install of windows xp? remove the adapter completely(the one with the bang) and let windows attempt to autodetect a driver, insert driver disk try to make disk location of driver. I'm going to convince one of my friends from XP support to come here and help with some of the issues. He recently suffered a huge loss with his family so it may take some time, but it'd be nice to have someone from microsoft for xp related questions. A normal part of microsoft windows xp troubleshooting involves reformatting, it's unfortunate but true. that's why so many problems can be sent out of country.

also check the microsoft windows xp knowledge base. http://support.microsoft.com/winxp

just enter your exact error code in the search field and read the responses. shrug, most of the time this is what the people do when you call microsoft...but their kb is a bit more profound
