No, you can't re-order a warrAnty. What you order originally is what you get. As far as out-of-warranty repairs, I'm sure AW will do it for a modest sum, such as your first-born child, or your mortal soul.

Actually AW is offering to some the option to upgrade your warranty if you are still under the original.

And who did those special people have to service to get that?

Heh, I got an email offering to option to upgrade my warranty.

Well. Don't ask, don't tell, you know.

Yes you can add more warranty. As long as you pay for additional warranty before your first year is up.

I'm not sure everyone is being offered upgrades to their warranty, and I'm not sure how long you have to actually extend it after purchasing the computer. Also, it might cost more to upgrade the warranty if you extend it later than if you buy it when you buy the computer. I'm not totally sure about AW's policy concerning extending the warranty so you should probably give them a call and inquire about it.

And yes, AW will fix your computer out-of-warranty, but it will cost a hell of alot more than extending the warranty would have cost. I'm not positive about AW, but I know that computer dealers like Dell charge around $40 alone to speak to their tech guys for basic trouble-shooting if your computer is out-of-warranty...and this dollar figure does not include if you have to buy any parts or have a tech actually work on your computer. So the extended warranty is well worth the extra money when you consider the large amount of money it could save you in the future. This is an expensive investment so protect it.

But the extra three hundred will seem like pocket change should you have any kinds of problems after the warranty is up.

No, you can't. Not unless they offer it to you. I asked several different AW reps this same question, and I always received the same response. No, you only get what you buy initially. Unless they think you're a cutie and e-mail you a special offer.

Maxrule, buy as much warranty as you can afford, cloudburst is right. You may not need it in the future, but it's nice to have. I plan on becoming a computer genius between now and the time my warranty runs out so I can do repairs myself.

The lady on the phone told me when I ordered mine 2 days ago you can call up anytime within the first year before the warranty expires to purchase additional warranty.

So that means you can only extend the warranty for an additional year? No way to extend to get the entire three-year warranty? And is there a price difference for extending the warranty later as opposed to purchasing it when you first buy the computer? Is it smarter and less expensive to get the extended warranty from the start as opposed to extending the warranty later?
