My laptop buying philosophy
I always buy the second-best technology available, and I believe the best time to buy that technology is when the new technology hits. I bought my 8600 right after the XPS/9100 were released. So, if I were buying (and I'm not right now--my 8600 plays WoW just fine) I would wait for the 9300 to be released and then buy the 9200 or whichever model floats your boat. If you buy this way--you can buy a new laptop aproximately every 12-18 months even if you are living on student loans or a moderate income.
The only reason to buy the latest is if you are a true power-gamer, must have the best laptop graphics and have the dinero to spend. If you are, and you do, more power to you--wait and buy the 9300. Of coures in that case you're probably better off spending the money on a high-end desktop and grabbing a third-best technology laptop for lan parties. But hey--it's your money.
I'm getting lazier and cheaper in my old age and will probably give up on second-best technology soon and go with third-best. I might buy the 9200 after the dual-cores are released--should be tres cheap (if it is available at all)
