Possible fix for pops/clicks when using usb audio

I discovered that when windows is checking the battery power/status the mouse pointer (using touchpad) and usb ports pause/freeze for a split second on my Acer TM 4000. This gives me pops/clicks on Edirol's PCR1 sound.

Taking out the battery or disabling 'smart battery subsystem' in device manager gives me smooth audio without any interruption. So for some reason when windows is checking the battery status/power it interrupts the usb and ps2 ports, possibly others too.

Has anyone else experienced the same thing?

Sounds like you might wanna check your IRQ settings and make sure your USB has a high priority IRQ, say 9 or 10 would probably be good, try 9 first.
