First Greetings all and thanks for all the terrific info about Notebooks. This forum convinced me to go ahead with my AW Order.
Ubergrits & Totalbonker,
As soon as I read your post about offering to bump, if calling to cancel, I called AW CS. I talked to the regular rep(Kris) and the CS Manager(Alex). Both assured me there is no such practice at AW in the US. I didn't call to cancel, I merely wanted to express my dissatisfaction and reg a complaint if it was true. I have also seen Juan Garcia a lot in these forums coming to the assistance of the lonely Phasers and I hope he will look into it and put a stop to it. If true.
However, if anyone else from AW is monitoring, can you please tell me why, if I order the same exactly configured notebook today, you can build it in 18 days (estimated ship is 2/28/05) and I placed my order 1/17, I am currently in phase 7, and my estimated ship date is (which was 2/17, then 2/18 and is now) 2/22/05
????? Honestly, your website is lying, or I'm being lied to.
How can it be that you can offer to build the same exact system as mine in 18 days from scratch. And even though all my stuff is right there, you can't manage it in less than 12 days????? Please don't tell me it is about the parts, you build the best systems on earth and you can't design a webpage to properly account for inventory part assignment and build time. That is truely unacceptable.
Once again though, let me say, your CS Reps are some of the kindest I have ever delt with. Each time I have called every one of them took their time to answer any question I had and not make me feel like a bother. And without a doubt, that is the reason my order is still meandering through the phases. Your patient customer, Klattu
