top one can't be 6000 cuz i know 6000 is 15.4 inch and keyboard is pretty small for that size. but last 2 pictures are definitely 6000.

Looks like the docking station/port replicator connector is missing from the bottom of the laptop. Does anyone know if these new i6000 / i9300 laptops are capable of using the D/Dock?

It's a shame they couldn't leave the i8600 form factor alone. First they yank the trackstick, irDA, and legacy ports, now they may remove the docking capability also?

Looks like the i6000 will offer only a USB docking station.

And the optical bay is fixed. Cuts down on the price I suppose.

looks a bit better than the old design, but still sorta ugly.

someone needs to invent a GOOD universal one, there was a PCMCIA with Video, but it has been disco'ed

That's a shame. Looks like the i6000 is out of the question for me. The i9300 will have a D/Dock port though, right?

I may be better off with an i8600 right now.. at least I can add the trackstick onto the i8600c with Dell spare parts.

If you want a docking station and the trackpoint, you should be looking at the Latitude line. All the new Inspirons released recently have not had either a trackpoint or docking option. Dell seems to be making a split between the 'Home' Inspiron line and the 'Business' Latitude line. I imagine it would be cheaper to by a D800 than it would be to by a i8600 and change the case and keyboard.

...with the exception of the Dell discount coupons. Only if I can order a D800 through Dell Small Business with an awesome coupon code. Even so, I'd hold out for the D810 and hope that it will accept PCI-X graphics cards from the i6000 or i9300 in the future.

Problem is I like the 700m, the X1 even doesn't have that option, and it is UltraLow Voltage
