I go to Add/Remove Programs. and I remove the ATI display driver. Its asks me to reboot, I do, I boot into normal mode. and the computer sort of installs the driver itself, I had to show it where a file was twice, but it seemed to install. and it said Your hardware is now available to be used, or something to that effect. I go to try to install the 3.6 Cat drivers and it says I have no video driver installed and its suggests a standard VGA.
it is very noticeably slower too...
After an uninstall and reboot, the OS will install default (standard VGA) drivers. There are several ways to proceed:
1. If you know what and where the INF is for your new drivers, go through the manual selection of new drivers process. (Surf the forums, this must be explained somewhere, could be an old thread but they're all the same. I can't look right now.)
2. Let the system install the standard VGA, then go the the SETUP.EXE for your new drivers and run it.
3. If you're installing OmegaCorner's modified ATI drivers, you don't even have to uninstall the old one's first. It handles overlaying them.
Graphics driver update is very doable. Surf the forums or the Net for proper instructions. Cheers.
