Yep one or the other, though by special I mean only something that has composite or rca inputs(Or svideo) on it. Or has a built in TV tuner. I have seen all except for one with RCA inputs(When a TV tuner isnt present) so at least 2 of those options are viable.

There are also component/svideo to VGA/DVI adapters out there, and notebooks with TV tuners only can use consoles and such (coaxial in). Hope that helps...

I havea USB powered RCA - VGA switch box.. you can set it up inline with your PC, but switch over to your PS2..

Let me get this straight. I think you are asking if you can use a Notebooks display to play your PS2 on, correct? I imagine that there are certain Media Center Notebooks with the inputs for something like that, but at a hefty premium. You might look at some of the USB capture doo-hickeys, but you would probably have some lag that would make your gaming experience un-enjoyable. As for an LCD monitor, there are several from Dell, Samsung, and the like that do double duty as TV and Monitor and have built in tuners and inputs on the monitor directly. If you are asking for travel purposes , I would suggest the Initial 10.2" DVD player that Wal-Mart sells for $400. It plays DVD +/-R, DIVX/XVID on CD, and has inputs to use the screen as a monitor. I have used it to preview from my Digi-cam, DV-cam, and to play PS2 on trips. It is a really useful little machine for the money.

A TV card seems like the best option - but you might get some lag with it

the 8890 does it fine with the tv tuner card. I use mine all the time.

On my desktop I use an ATI Tv Wonder VE. Other than the crashes i get every few weeks because of the card, playing ps2 on my computer screen is great. No lag. However with my new notebook i am worried about a new tv tuner and latency.
