5690 with Toshiba SD-R2514 DVD+R problem

Hi guys, I have the computer with the DVD player/writer listed in the title of the thread. I have burned with DVD+R's before, but I just bought a pack of Sony DVD+R's and when I insert the disk and try to write to it, Windows pops up with a "Please insert a writable disk" message. I've read that updating the firmware should help. If so where do I find the firmware and is that really the problem?

If you are trying to use DVD+R media rated at 8x, than you wil need a firmware update.

The first three characters of your current revision number should be used to get the correct version applicable to you. I used the one for version 1032 on my drive (It was 1031).
