I want to purchase the NEC 6750A, but Im afraid that it wont fit in my sager 8890. Does anybody know if it does?

It will physically fit.
Straight drop in replacement.
The only thing you may need to check is that they sorted out the problems that the guys at CD freaks were talking about.

Do you know exactly where that link is at CDfrecks? So that I can check it out?

Hey Aussie, I have a problem. I just bought the NEC 6750A And installed it( pefect fix I might add) Everything is fine Until I play DVD, No sound!! I checked everything! I know its not the drive because my secondary drive does the same. So I know its not the drives themselves but something internal. Maybe something isnot set right. I just cant figure it out. I checked the mutes, volumes, even reinstalled realtek AC'97 audio from my boot disc. I dont know what else to do. " I'm stumped" Please help!!!!

Here is what I would suggest. Go into MY COMPUTER and completely remove that DVD Drive. Then power the unit down - wait a good four or five minutes and power it up WITHOUT the DVD drive. After you have booted and windows and come up fully POWERDOWN. Now install the DVD device (make sure that it has a good contact with the electronic plugins, etc) and try powering it up and let Windows configure the new device - do not have any media in the drive when you do this and also wait for about 5 minutes before trying to access the device or rebooting.

I know it sounds weird; however, my new NEC ND-4570A exhibited some very very odd behaviors until I did something similiar and I also switched it back and forth between USB and IEEE1394 interfaces several times. Then, for some odd and unknown reason, after a couple of iterations, it now works just fine.

Thanks G-Omaha For your input. But I solved the problem days ago. Turns out my Windows Media Player 10 was not working right. And I dont know why. But every other player I have like VLC, Real player, and Cyberlink worked just fine. No problems. So I uninstalled it but for some reason, It wont remove from the list in the control panel. When I press remove It'll say that it will install the previous version. So I think something is corrupted in the program. By the way the NEC 6750A is kick ass Its works great. But on my very first DVD burn, It took 30 minutes to burn at 4x speed. Is that normal being that it was the 1st time or is that abnormal and should burn faster. I was told around 5-10 minute is normal. Is this right?
