SATA still isn't a big deal, imho. It offers NCQ, but that slows down most workstation applications, it only really helps in server situations. Even the new 100MB Seagate Momentus 7200RPM will be in both SATA and Ultra ATA. Now, I'd love SATA just for future proofing, though.

But, if you have 6 months to wait, I bet we see Sonoma platform laptops with video at least as good, plus Expresscards and SATA. Right now this is the only non-heavy laptop that is good though, of the new ones.
