Inspiron 9300 and DDR 1

Will inspiron 9300 and 6000 be able to use DDR 1 sodimm (the one that we all use now) ?

I still wanna use my 1 gig PC 2700 sodimm if I purchase 9300 or 6000.

Some news said it will support both DDR 1 and DDR 2 but I am not sure. Anyone can confirm ?

Thank's !

The I6000 only uses DDR2 so I would think the 9300 would only use it as well.

doubtful, not even desktop motherboards support both.

Very true desktops only support DDR or DDR2. Funny thing is other electronics (settop processors, etc) support SDR, DDR, and DDR2 all in the same chip.

I really hope DDR 1 still can be utilised. Anyone who become the first user of I9300 or I6000 maybe can try and confirm this.

Thank's !

The i6000 will use DDR2 but it looks like 400mhz, not 533. Do ya'll think that is something you will be able to change in the BIOS or will Dell lock it down?

According to this link

Alvisio, the mobile version of the 915 Grantsdale chipset does not support DDR1

Looks like Celeron Processor uses 400 and Pentium-M uses 533.

Not sure the new dells will support Pc2700 memory, but I know that some of the new sonoma notebooks (for whatever strange reason) will use it instead of DDR2. Some examples are the Eurocom Cobra and the new sony notebooks.
