i don't know how you guys can sit there and wait all that time
Well, for real fishing, as in any real thing, the point is not necessarily what you appear to be doing, its the more the excuse to get away from all the stuff you should be doing long enough for the cobwebs to set in, take root and bear fruit. Sort of calms the mind. I used to go fishing with a guy that didn't have any hooks in his box, just a couple of small glass bowls. a good cutter, a nice gas lighter, some very fine ceegars and quite a bit of excellent brandy. He'd go through the motions and all, put out a line, but he never landed any fish, at least not in this dimension. I never enjoyed fishing so much as with him. We wouldn't say a word for hours. Maybe only a couple of words all day.

Then again, I've been fly fishing with my dad and that was more beautiful to watch than any ballet. Wish I had a high res video of that line and how it arced. He did catch fish and we did eat them, best trout I ever had.

I haven't done much of that since I moved to Hawaii, and my dad passed on. myrkat, I'll get a hold of my ex brother in law, just saw him at my daughter's wedding a month ago, he might know how to get in to that lodge or of something equivilent.

Sounds like a plan M.D.! Maybe we should organize a sagerforums trip? Something not too expensive, so many who want to can come.

Oh, are we sharing?

Heh. Well I guess I'm up for it.

That's right, another Asian kid.

Hrm, didn't realize I looked that kiddy. Or had such a funny looking nose for that matter.

Of course, if you get a bunch of great salmon like investorguy seems to have, well, time to find a good smoker which is just another reason to ignore reality as it certainly requires constant monitoring even though there's not much you can do. Eventually you can end up with some really great stuff to wrap your mouth around. Especially on that next fishing trip.

What is wrong with your nose, denkc?
Nothing. I'm just self-conscious is all. For some reason. Never used to be. But I'll tell ya what, people do judge people based on how they look.

What Madcat, did you just learn you got drafted? Or that your SAGER got stolen?

Anyway, no matter what, there's no hate in the flames, just a bit of roasting ala the Friar's club.

May I suggest everyone just buy a dart board and print a few copies of this picture out.

Relieve stress in a healthy manner!

Just go down to Home Depot and get some plywood to put behind the board. Bam instantly safe to use in a dorm...

The guys across the hall from me did this. They also put red velour on it(the plywood) to go along with the theme of their living room. Seems to have held up pretty well so far.

Somehow I would have hoped the dorm officials would have been concerned with the flesh of the inhabitants more than some holes in the walls.

Besides, most of the dorms I've been in (only as a guest) were concrete and you'd have to use rocket propelled darts to make a mark.

And better than plywood, try some fibre-board, sometimes called sound board. Its semi-soft stuff that makes a perfect dart board substrated, maybe for those muscle dudes, put a sheet of plywood under the fibreboard to prevent damage to the walls. And, of course, wear safety glasses, helmets and knee pads.

Telemekhos, you are one lucky guy. Is your screen name a variation of the Odyssian Telemachus?

Not in my dorm!

Our walls are some VERY crappy plaster shizzle, and are easily pierced by darts (or spoons, if given enough velocity). But then again, some of the fun OF dorm life, is to see how much damage yo can get away with...

And i agree... Very lucky guy up there (once i realised there WAS a guy in that pic.. )

Marquis,
yes my handle is a variation of Odysseus' son Telemakhos. The spelling varies depending on the translation used. Thanks, my Fiance's is indeed a knockout, and is more importantly brilliant as well.

My apartment is strange. The outside walls, thumbtacks sag in them....

The inside walls, damn near need a sledgehammer to drive something into, or at least whip a butcher's knife at the wall with a sufficient velocity....

except only problem is after a few beers and the darts hit miles from the dart board and the piece of plywood LOL
