X700 announced

ati now lists everything nicely

x800
x700
x600
x300


if you look at the specs x600 is the odd one out.

x800 - performace
x700 - the best you can have in thin and lights
x300 - ultraportables and on a budget

what is the x600 doing there



i cant wait to see

1. mobility x800 vs geforce 6800 go
2. mobility x700 vs geforce 6600 go
3. mobilty x300 vs geforce 6200 go

whom do you think will win these battles??
i think i will go with the geforce series

remeber nvidia will refresh all GPUs in 6 months with faster clock timings (memory and GPU ) as yields improve.
we will surely see 6300, 6700, 6900 ( remember 5900 )

they will surely resolve any doubts over who wears the crown this year.


any news on the ati IGP chipset for AMD?

ATI has been the mobile leader in grafics cards. Not just for performance but also for power consumption and managment. I'm placing my money on them.

Took the words right out of my mouth. The only advantage I can see with going with Nvidia right now would be the Pixel shader 3.0 support and in Desktops obviously SLI.

Yes, as far as I know it's an updated mobile version of the ATI RS480 (aka Radeon Xpress 200 series) chipset code-named ATI RS480M:

That extremetech review is lame. It compares different cards w/computers that have vastly different specs, etc.

The PCI Express-based graphics processor comes with eight pixel pipelines, six vertex engines and support for 128-bit DDR, DDR2 and GDDR3 memory. In terms of performance, the X700 will be offered as a mainstream solution, positioned below the high-end X800 and above the entry-level X600 and X300.

Built in 110nm, the X700 carries over several features from the X800, including the firm's LCD Enhancement Engine (LCD-EE), the power manager Powerplay 5.0 and the Videoshader HD as real time integration of pixel shaders with video.

The specifications of the Mobility Radeon X700 also list support for "HyperMemory", a technology that utilizes system memory instead of on-board-memory via PCI Express. ATI's HyperMemory has not been officially announced yet and will answer Nvidia's "TurboCache" approach in a move to keep production cost of desktop and notebook graphics at a lower level.

HyperMemory support is also indicated for the Mobility Radeon X800 and X300.

According to ATI, Acer, Asus, Alienware, Eurocom, Fujitsu, Gateway, Lenovo, Sony, and Toshiba will be among the manufacturers to use the new X700 chip in their products.

comon x700 is wickedly fast
i hope the 660 go blows it out of the water!

all i want is my lappy to run the new aoe3 on full settings when it comes out...

x700 - 6600 go should be more than enuf
just have to wait for turion thats all

According to other websites, which I have already posted the link to in the Acer 8100 thread, the 9700 is equal to x600. Which makes sense cause the x800 beats up the 9800.

9600 = x300
9700 = x600
9800 = x700
x800 > All

I think the x700 is only slightly faster then the 9800 but not by much. But with the faster processer "Pent M 2.1" out the x700 can beat the 9800 alot more easily.

I'm on the fence as far as x700 vs. x800/Geforce Go 6800 is concerned. Does anyone know what the relative power consumption of these three options is? Obviously I'd expect the x700 to consume less power than the other two, but can anyone quantify the difference?
