gaming laptop for $3000

I have been searching for a gaming laptop. About three grand. Does not need to be portable. Considering the HP ZD-8000 (256mg x600 card not available), Sony A-290, Toshiba AV-501, or a dell 9200 or XPS. Leaning towards th HP. Should I wait for the 256mg card or settle for the 128mg card now? Any other suggestions welcome. Thanks for all the info onthis forum.

Sager/PCTorque offers the same thing but you can configure it with the ATI x800 card. Currently there is no other notebook to match it's performance as the dTR.

Thanks for the guys. Was hoping to get a few more opinions. Looking into the Sager. Gets closer to $3500 with everything I want. Will keep looking.

If it doesn't need to be portable, then why not buy a desktop?

$3000 sure is a lot just to spend on playing games.

The x700 is a good gpu
