Reformatting steps

When reformatting a laptop what are the steps that I must peform? I want to erase my whole hard drive and reinstall XP, but I need the steps so that i can do that. Thanks in advance.

Not much to it. If you want to save data, do that first.

1. Change boot order if necessary to boot off CD.
2. Restart laptop, make sure it's booting off the CD.
3. Delete partition(s), or just install over the old one.
4. After XP is installed, install the drivers for your laptop.

before you do this, remember to save your files to disc...
