Alright, I was messing around with changing my themes and I accidently deleted all of my themes. Including the default ones like the blue, silver, oliver color. I do not know how to fix this. Here is a screenshot.

Microsoft insists the default themes cannot be deleted. Did you check the Windows Resource file to see if the themes folder is still sitting there with the Luna shells, including Homestead, Metallic, and Normal Color?

I'll check again. I think I screwed it up even more trying to do stuff in safe mode! It hink this calls for a reformat.....But ill try to see if I can fix it more. I really dont want to reformat, Ill have to back up 4+ Gigs of data...

Viper,

Try this site to help restore XP styles. Just scanned it real quick. Has several troubleshooting options for this problem.

Wow my XP is VERY messed up. Okay I got my themes working. It turned out that I have three, THREE!, usernames on this OS that are not showing up in the Control Panel/User Accounts.

One is named Administrator, I dont know what the pass is. It doesnt show up in the control panel.

Second one is named K McCray(My name), When I log into this one, everything works fine. But when you go into the start menu you see Viper8547 as the username!

Thrid one is called Viper8547, and when I go into this one, windows is in Safe Mode! Truelly messed up. I figured out it was in safe mode because I tried to start up the themes service in services.msc. Thats where it told me that I was in safe mode and could not start this service.

Also, my log in screen is now different. It is where you actually have to type in your user name and pass.

Very very strange....

Okay, forget about the Safe mode. It turns out that the same Username had two names to it Viper8547 and K McCray! WTF?!

I am able to log into the same account by using Viper8547 and K McCray, remember, I have to type in my usernames for some reason now when I log in.

Hmm...the only reason you should have to type in the names would be if you deleted the logon screen as well (which you can't do easily and have Windows still bootable) or if using the welcome screen has been disabled. Under User Accounts, go to 'Change the way users log on...' and make sure the welcome screen and fast user switching are both checked.

You could always look for freeware program or trial version of theme changing software like StyleXP to see if it will set it will be able to set your themes back to normal.

The administrator account is on every windows NT/2000/xp/2003 system by default (unless you go and rename it or something). The password for it was set during windows install.

So somehow you created 2 accounts, and you're now complaining that you have to type them in? Are you not using a password too?

Local system policy can change/modify this as well.
