Need Help Fast installing dvdrom

Hello to all, I have a toshiba sattlite 1805/s254 and the dvd rom was bad, long stroy. So I have brought a new dvd rom drive, the only problem is the laptop will not reconize it(during boot up it shows a message IDE #1 error), although Iam able to open and close the drive(while laptop is powered on) so I know its getting power!

Now I notice that on the original dvd it says(on the sticker on the drive) M/S (which I belive is suppose to be master/slave

but on the new on It says CSEL (whic I belive is cable select)

Now, I belive that the reason its not reading the drive is because its set to cable select, only problem I dont see how to change the jumpers(I dont see any jumpers)

CAN SOMEONE HELP ME ASAP, I HAVE TO HAVE THIS DRIVE READY BY THIS AFTER NOON

This may or may not help. Is this particular drive compatible with your laptop.
