Is it possible, if the 8890 don't ship out on the 22nd, to cancel the order with no penalties? I need a laptop before school starts which is, the 30th. I ordered second day shipping so tat shouldnt be a problem, pls help calm me down.

i am sure it would be since they offer a no questions asked money back guarantee (except shipping) for 30 days i think. Call them and ask if it is possible.

Well, I think its a good question.

It's his decision if he wants to cancel the order or not. I know I've been frustrated before by delays and/or out of stock items from internet purchases.

Alot of times the person selling you the item does not keep you informed. Sometimes even billing your credit card before they even ship the item (or have it in stock) .. which is WRONG!!!

The supply chain for high tech products is highly intransparant and loosely coupled. Nobody knows exactly and timely what the other parties in the supply chain are doing and what is worse: this has been generally accepted.

This does not mean that you should sit back and let them get away with delays. No, ask them again and again what is going on, what progress they are making, why the delay has been, what they are doing about it, et cetera. Be polite but BE HEARD: they will know what their job is!

I am not clairvoyant but cannot be optimistic about your chances of receiving your 8890 before school starts. You are taking a bet and it is yours. But you can win a FANTASTIC machine, need I Sager more?

You can cancel your order without too much problems. Just read the policies page, https://pctorque.com/policies.php, or read here:

Return policy: When taking advantage of Sager's Umbrella Protection Policy (30-day money-back guarantee), we will issue a full refund by check for cash orders, but will deduct a 5% processing fee for credit card orders. This is because our merchant account charges us 2.5% of the sale and another 2.5% of the return, so we would lose money unless we deducted the transaction fees from the refund.

But this shouldn't apply if you haven't received your order yet...you should receive a full refund. They don't bill the card until after the laptop ships.

Mine already got billed. Not that I really care, but just for FYI.

Yours got billed? .. I ordered mine a on the 7th, and it has not been billed.

But, Sager should NOT be billing people for pre-orders, until they ship. Too many online merchants do this, and I do believe its against the law.

Technically, they do not have the product yet. How can they bill you for something they dont have.

Credit cards are not charged before orders are shipped. Credit cards are AUTHORIZED before the order ships. If you check your card, it will show that the amount of the purchase is not available, but this does NOT mean the card was charged, only held. There are no interest charges for holding funds.

You can't start school with no laptop? What a panzy..so what if it gets there 2 days late..or even a week....Yes I know you need a computer...but I am sure there are computer labs to tide you over for a day or two...chill out man..and grow up..

I think while over blunt about it Spectre has a good point. I just started last week my school and have no need for my lappy yet while I will here in a month or so when paper become annouced as of right now it is note taking and reading as well as math....

In my opinion, at least with my load at college, the first week or two are when I need the laptop the most. It is during that time that I can do some serious gaming and stuff, which I just don't have time to do later on in the year. I mean, I can always type up a paper at the computer lab (wouldn't want to, but could), but something tells me that the computer lap comps won't support the latest 3d games . Anyways, wait or not, your going to love your sager.

Or... you could get out and be SOCIAL!

Cheers.

Adam...

Adam, that makes sense. Actually, I hadn't even looked at my charges but was refering to the phone call I got from my credit card company verifying my purchase since it was a large Internet purchase. They wanted to make sure it was legit, and THEIR words were, "we have a charge for $X dollars from yesterday, did you make it?"

No problem either way.
