Since half a year or so, the speedstep feature in my Compaq EVO N1020v with a P4M 1.8 Ghz hasn't been working properly. I don't know if the update to SP2 broke it or if it's something else, but it won't scale with the CPU load anymore.
If I boot the machine on battery power, it sticks at 1.1 Ghz and won't change from there no matter what I do. If I restart it while having AC power plugged in, it stays at 1.79 ghz and won't scale down.
I use XP Professional SP2 with all updates installed. Any ideas?
