Thought it wasn't possible?

Thread Starter
I just purchased an M30 Special Edition and it came stock with XP Home. I needed the functionality of XP Pro so I partitioned the drive with Partition Magic, and did a clean install of XP. I loaded all the drivers and utilities that I could find on the US and Canadian sites. I've wanted to use the Express Media Player but since I had to upgrade I knew that this functionality would be lost. I've asked on this forum and others if there is a work around but apparently not.

Here is the strange thing... IT WORKS! Don't ask how but it does. Here are pics as follow as well as a screen shot of my system properties. Any ideas why this is so????? I'm confused.

Hi flowrider,

If i remember correctly the express player is on a hidden partition on your hdd and it's linux baes, so when you push that button it will boot into the linux partition and give you the express media player.

This is all done by the recovery cd's. there should be one for express media player and the normal recovery.

off the top of my head you have to install the express media recovery so it will partiton your drive correctly so the shortcut key will work.

so all that means is that when you did the re-install you left the first partition intact....
