I recently bought TurtleBeach's audio advantage micro. did a full install, followed all instructions, and plugged it in. when i start playing mp3, avi files, or any type of music/sound, lound popping noises and static can be heard. i've searched on the web and have found a few people with the same problems, but no solutions to them. any help or info to this problem will be greatly appreciated

What is it plugged into? Headphones? Or is it plugged into anything that is also plugged into the wall?

Do the pops etc stop when you take your unplug your laptop from the wall?

I tried both my z2200 logitech speakers and sony headphones, both make static noises. However i managed to get it working today for a while. when i unplugged the laptop and let the battery drain a little, then plugged it back in, the static came back again. i let the battery charge to 100% again and its still popping. when i unplug my laptop from the wall, the pops still occur.

I've found the solution to the problem....albeit a very wierd solution. Play a song in winamp/wmp, with the sound card unplugged. plug the soundcard in. close the media player, then open it up again. afterwards, the sound is fixed.
wierd...just plain wierd....

UPDATE:
You can also do this by first disabling ur turtle beach sound driver in the device manager, then opening winamp and play a song. then re-enable the driver. sound suddenly stops in the winamp. close winamp and re-open it. when u go to task manager, u'll find two winamp.exe. i've found that keeping the original winamp.exe (the one thats prolly taking less memory) prevents the static/popping noises. dunno if this will work for everyone, but it worked for me.
