plug in for internet explorer

Thread Starter
can anyone help me out, i have internet explorer and i like it. its simple, it works. and by downloading the google regestry changing thing, the address bar uses google to search. no extra tool bars needed.

however i want tabbed browsing. ive tried programs like mozilla and firefox but i hate having to switch back to IE for sites that don't load. i also don't like shells like avant. i want to keep the look and functionality of IE just add tabs. does anyone know a program that can do this?

also if anyone knows how to change the mail button in IE from outlook to yahoo that'd be cool

Just get firefox. it is so much better.

If you want to stick with IE and want tabs, you can use Maxthon (www.maxthon.org). It is not a plugin but it is much better than using IE alone, it still uses IE in the background.

Off the top of my head, launch.yahoo.com doesn't work. Hmmm I know there's a few more. Oh yes! PC-Cillin's online virus checker doesn't work. Also, some photo hosting websites don't work, basically because all use some sort of active-x control, etc that doesn't work with firefox.

umm well if u also think about it active-x is the worst possible thing ever made imo... ive gotten so many virus/spyware from that... ever since i turned it off never got anything so then i found firefox and i love it havent had spyware since then...active-x is horrid

Yea. Active-X is great until you get a trojan installed and executed on your comp without ever knowing it. Firefox is for people who explore the net, but don't need to be concerned about this thing happening.

If you don't want to be a Firefox man, then I suggest you get a good Trojan scanner and run it often. As well as at least 5 different ad-ware programs so you can find it all. You will need, HiJack this, Spybot, Ad-aware, MS Beta, Spysweeper (you have to buy this one), and Eye-Spy Remover. I suggest you have them all because they all find something the others forgot. With all of these combined you can get pretty much 100% of it though. And you'll need a good Trojan scanner depending on what anti-virus you use. eWido and Trojan Hunter are good. You can install all of this and run them daily, or install and use Firefox only switching to IE for those other sites you frequent. I use Maxthon for those and love it, lots of customization.
