I am just wondering if there could be a section started for the Sony line of laptops? I know quite a few people have sony laptops and I would like to see a section just for tehm.

I'd love to see a Sony Section. They have some of the best laptops. Seriously, the S Series!!! a 4.2 lb lappy with a 9700 that gets 6.5 hours of battery life!!! The only thing is $$$. It cost a good amount of $$$

I, for one, am not in favor of all of these new sections. Granted many more people may own these laptops compared to smaller vendors that have a share here on the forums (e.g. Alienware), but I think it eliminates a very nice component of the "Notebook General" area; honest comparison. I can just imagine how brand diehards (whether it be Sony, Asus, Acer, etc) not giving people honest enough comparison because they are posting in a brand specific forum (e.g. a person interested in Sony, HP, IBM, and Acer post asking to compare three notebooks in the Sony forums - perhaps because he is leaning towards a Sony notebook or needs more info in it in particular - but the danger is he gets the most opinions from people who inherently prefer Sony).

My view is they have some of the best looking laptops and thats where it ends...

Well I havent owned one, but they have some lappys that no other vendor has. I have not found ANY lappy at 4.2 lbs that has a 9700. Sony Vaios also have great battery life, assuming what they say on their site is true or close to true.

I also support a seperate form for the Sony puters I just got a A140 and love it. I've added the internal wireless card and 512 MB more ram and it just flies and looks awesome. It's a celeron m but i plan to upgrade the CPU to a Pent M 2,0G someday when these cpu's get more reasonable in price.
