Screw the 7700, Screw the 9860, I'm Getting This. - Page 2

You can never love your country enough.
I wanted that flag theme before I ordered my 7700, but I could not understand the price diff.
Everyone should have a yellow ribbon to show support for our troops.
My 2 cents

God Bless The United States of America! And may old glory always fly high and true!
There was a time that most people did not show or respect the American flag and that our man and women were and are fighting wars; So that we don’t have too. So, if person wants to show that he or she loves this great land we call the United States of America, I for one don’t have any problem in flying the Red, White and Blue!

There are only a small number of people that do things like this. Its not a very polite way to let other in the Alienware forum know of choosing a different system. When its delivered to you like this, does anyone really care to see this kids review?

Clearly wants attention in my opinion

Well it's not always like that though Aurora. I'm getting a Falcon and I intend to post the pix and review in the Alienware section because I started out with an Alienware and I identify the AW section of the forum as "home". You know?

nice paintjob... just make sure you don't move out of the country!!!

I know, Krew. but it doesn't seem right to make threads like this. not very friendly. Its an Alienware forum but we all are friendly and like to see what other people have even when its not an Alienware.

For that price, I take it you won't be going out for at least 6 months?

I configured a Fragbook TL last summer and it came a smidge under $3000.00, a Voodoo m370 was over $3200.00.

Agreed. It'll bring a new meaning to flag burning.

I apologize if the tone of this seemed unfriendly. Certainly not meant to upset anyone here. Just give food for thought. However, there is no Falcon section. Also, I hope some of the big wigs at AW read these forums from time to time. I also hope they check out the resellers opinions where the customer service ratings are God-awful. High end, but no dead pixel guarantee and a 15% restickittoyou fee??? Fugem. They're Dell with a glossy screen. Got these boards to thank for my opinion too. I was fairly convinced to get one. 3 weeks later on this board turned me 100% off. BTW, I may be a kid, but I'm a 42 year old kid who can afford a Falcon with a bit of belt tightening and I won't even have to pull the kids out of private school. As for the flag thing, to each his own. I'm no zealot, but I certainly love this country and any foreigner that was offended by my lappie can feel free to kiss my a$$

good for you. hope you enjoy the Falcon.
I don't see this thread lasting very long.

support the economy.

but oneeye. don't you want to wait for the sonoma lappys to come out.
with the pci-e and ddr2 memory?

dell, sony, acer have models ready to release, i'm sure the falcon, voodoo, aw, etc will also have their versions soon.

5300.00!!! What a waste of money. The thing will be outdated in a few years anyway... why spend so much? Does Falcon NW even offer a trade in-policy where for like some money and your old laptop they'll give you a brand new notebook? I don't think so.

WHAT A WASSSSSSSSSSTE!

This is an out take from a review of the Fragbook DR6800 from PC Magazine:
"You can expect superb performance with top-of-the-line features with the FragBook DR 6800. But when you're spending more than $5,000, you want the absolute best for your money, and the FragBook just misses that mark with a subpar paint job and unacceptable wireless scores."

Subpar paint job and unacceptable wireless scores?

Name the issue please.
Thats just crazy. Nothing about Falcon is "subpar". Its just not a term that should be used to describe any of the Elite high performance brands. edit: imho. nothing against rockets posting of the info.

I was shocked myself, as far as I've always read Falcon Northwest makes nothing less than superlative products and that they are known for their great paint jobs.
Thats the problem with reviewers.
everything is subjective.
it's like the opinions posted by this forum members.
to the reviewer - subpar paint job may just be a case of some orange peel effect near the hinges where the curved surfaces makes it harder to paint.

inferior wireless score ... compared to what?
there is no baseline to the reviewers tests... what equipment he used?

it's just subjective.

I remember reading that, I for some reason get PC Mag at home, even though I never subscribed to it. A few months earlier they gave the Fragbook TL a great review however. After I read that I just figured that they were shipped a lemon demo unit.

Sounds like they got a lemon unit from the paint jobs I've seen, but thanks for the link. With approx a month to go before purchase, I could still end up knocking on Hypersonic's door. They are my second choice. Still more to read I guess.
